| Nice video ! Great video | 54spiritedwill54 |
| The primary reason the light is there is because of the school bus traffic going up and down Decker Road all day. Also, at the top of the hill, there is an advance notice signal so you know if there is a train waiting for you on the bend at the bottom of the hill. Yep, the hill is steep and icy in the winter but the recent rehab of the road has decreased the % downgrade slightly, and much of the brush obscuring the view of the tracks at the bottom of the hill has been removed. Thanks for comment | llokuta |
| I used to live in Bloomingdale and this road Decker Road should not have a railroad crossing at the bottom let along a red light. Come down this hill in the winter and try to stop real quick...Very poor planning on everyone's part... | specialJOSH246796 |
| Wow it awesome and 5******!!!!! | FlyBikes089 |
| totally, like even when the light was red, and the crossing activated, the black car could've turned right, to escape waiting for the train, but he didn't, SMART driver !!!! :) | rolls283 |
| It's most likely a C40-9. Only Norfolk Southern uses that type. | larry84988 |
| A Norfolk Southern locomotive...probably on lease to CSX | DENNISMOORE33 |
| what kind of locomotive is that first one? | foundationskater4lif |
| Nice to see the traffic stop for once when the lights are flashing! Awesome video! 5 stars | tfoster09 |
| yo that was the longest train i ever saw and i see csx and nf often it said china shipping on the side of the trains that train was probably in china by the time that train exited the crossing | pilotboy087 |
| Good Railfan video,nice long intermodal train. | dutchtrainmanserie22 |

| Yay !!!! finally someone who has a tripod and uses it.
I'll put my bid in for that house on the hill as well - I'll turn it into a B&B and invite railfans only :) | ejvideos07 |
| Great job on this video, I guess it's safe to say not all of the 'Gundersen & Thrall' cars are sitting idle at our seaports and shunting yards, obviously they were on this stack train. JohnC. | K5H13760 |
| the one guy was smart to stop when he saw the headlights and not the flashers. The guy behind him was probably like, move you assholian | Cooldit |
| Also, the railroad added traffic signal pre-emption to this crossing about 7 years ago. This railroad does NOT spend money voluntarily so you know more protection was needed at this crossing; they opted for a traffic signal instead of gates. There have been a few train/car collisions at this crossing over the past 15 years. | llokuta |
| Actually, the crossing is moderately active. A considerable number of the crossings along the NYS&W don't have gated protection for whatever reason.
When this line got reactivated back in the late 1980's, through about 1999, this crossing would see as many as six stack trains a day, plus any locals that would pass. These stack trains, for a period of a couple years, averaged between 2 and 3 miles long. | llokuta |
| That crossing doesn't look to active, considering there are no gates | mallmaven60 |
| Could you have picked a longer URL? | 3dJonny |
| I dozed off three times during that video because the gates are so mesmerizing to listen to. That and I am a little bushed. Great video and thanks for posting it. I'll buy that house on the hill there and invite anybody over who wants to shoot the breeze and watch trains. | WolfmanAndrew |
| It's not that often we see NS leading a CSX Stacktrain and NS pulling some Pacer Stacktrain containers. | NSNCRailfan |
