GNRR GP20 Local in Marietta,Ga With LOUD Horn! 5-21-08©

Here's footage I shot Wednesday May 21, 2008 of the Georgia Northeastern RR crossing at Shallowford Road in Marietta,Ga. heading South...with LOUD horn! GNRR 4125 GP20 Formerly Southern Pacific 7207. Built in 1962. Doing rather well for a 46 year old engine I must say!

This locomotive is currently on the Blue Ridge Scenic Train.TVRM610
I've seen this same unit in my friend Kyle's videos (guitars14)...and yes they come by about 2-3 times a day, I haven't been down there to record though, it's right down from where I work. This day I heard them coming and ran down there to record! They have some GP38-2 units as well as a GP7 also...DJGENEX71
Sweet video! Love the unit. Does the train come through often?trainlord11

Hey Ben, I was thinking the same thing, but didn't want to put it on here and have someone else say 'No it's a ____ horn!' lol.DJGENEX71
Hey Gene, That Sounds Like A K5LA Horn. I Just Thought That Because Of The Loud Ass Echo!!! Let Me Know, BenTrainWatcher1993
The logo is the state of Georgia. Georgia Northeastern Rail Road. Thank you for the comment! And yes has a powerful horn also!!!DJGENEX71
Couldn't believe this when I saw it-- an old GP20, and looking SO good as you say!! What is the little white logo on the nose?? BIG 'ole sounding horn for that little fellow!! Great great shot!!Squawk7600
I'm going to get some more videos, my friend Kyle guitars14 has some footage of this line. I work right by the crossing, well almost right by it...I know I love the old stuff too, my first HO train had a Santa Fe GP20 with it! Most of the GNRR units are GP38-2's so I got really lucky when this one rounded the corner!DJGENEX71
AWESOME! AWESOME! A GP20, wow! I'm a big fan of classics. Do you have more of this branch or can you take more of this branch? Did I mention the video is AWESOME!?o00o00ozy
OHHH YEAH!!!thetrainman407
Cool! Yea I work right there on JVL Industrial Blvd...so I can walk down there. I hear them coming from both directions and I'll have to check out that siding you were talking about also!DJGENEX71
No problem! I'm going to get some more from there, I work within 2 min walk from there. Glad you enjoyed it!DJGENEX71
SWEET! Right in my area too! I live about 5 miles away. Cross those tracks almost every day. The GNRR is putting in a new siding in off of old Canton road by Sandy Plains if you're interested in seeing it. 5* btw.guitars14
