Norfolk Southern 20G - Conrail, BNSF H1, Warbonnet

May 6, 2008: AWESOME Leslie RS-3L! Conrail SD50 NS 5400, BNSF Dash-9-44CW 1040, and Santa Fe Dash-8-40CW BNSF 829 lead a colorful Long Beach, CA - Croxton, NJ stack train by Robesonia MP 71. This type of lashup is not uncommon for 20G, the BNSF power remains from outwest and an SD50 is tacked on at Cleveland, OH. The SD50's are cab signal equipped and the Cleveland Line, Fort Wayne Line, and Pittsburgh Line require cab signals, so the SD50 is a good leader.

Lol. My favorite video of yours is the SD40-2 on fire at night!DJGENEX71
Excuse me, Cleveland Line, that's why the SD50's are pooled in Cleveland.o00o00ozy

Oops, that should say Cleveland Line. Thanks.o00o00ozy
Sweet catch, but FYI, the Harrisburg Line does not need cab signals.nanshant
Awesome man. Looking forward to seeing it.hoolg
Hey guess what, I caught 20G today with: NS SD50 5435 "CRQ" with an awesome P5 BNSF ES44DC 7797 ATSF D9-44CW 674 (a clean warbonnet, with a tiny, barely visible, BNSF stencil). And there was much better light.o00o00ozy

Ah, here it is. I wondered when you were putting this up. Great catch Eric, I wish theyd slap a leader like this on a train for the Eastern End.Hickler90
dispatcher will tell them why they got red or yellow and will tell them they gotta wait for another freight or amtrak too pass or if they have mow working on the trackstuntedcards
The Harrisburg Line is CTC, it used to not be, so they replaced all the signals when they acquired CTC.o00o00ozy
Aren't there lineside signals through here?tylerwinks
Nice.... LOVE THE HORN!!!! that horn was nice nice power alsoStephenson18
But, doesn't the dispatcher tell the crew what is ahead?norfolkdash9
Awesome video! A Conrail and a Sante Fe. Keep them coming!trekg13
Yes Cab signals, it's a display of the signals in the cab, so the crew knows what is ahead. This is required on the Pittsburgh Line and Harrisburg Line, a BNSF leader would not work on the Pittsburgh Line, although on the Harrisburg Line it doesn't matter. The SD50's are put on in Cleveland for can signals.o00o00ozy
