Crossing Gates Cass St. Jefferson, TX 1-13-07.wmv
After watching the track crews at work from the Mulberry St. crossing, my Grandma and I drove up north a ways to Lodi, TX, to see if there was any activity further north up the line (and there wasn't). Then we came back through Jefferson on our way down south to Marshall. We would ultimately end up in Hallsville, TX, where an important turn of events, in what started off looking like a bad railfanning day, began to unfold. I decided to go ahead and stop at the Cass St. crossing, and the crossing gates were down. No trains came through, but I got out and filmed this clip of the gates, and also zoomed in on a UP "Hi-Rail" truck down at the Mulberry St. crossing down the line. Ironically, the right light on the foremost crossing signal was burnt out. I thought that this was so strange with all of those track crews around, that I was inspired to comment about it in the video; so this video is one of the very few times you will ever here me comment in a video, because I don't normally comment when filming (though this does not necessarily apply to my storm chasing videos).
This video clip is largely targeted at crossing signal fans, so if you're looking for trains in this video, you might want to try some of my other videos.
Taken late in the morning on Saturday, January 13, 2007.
