My Father helped restore her at the Amtrak Wilmington Shops...There has to be a way to rebuild the transformer without it being cancerous. I mean with todays technology there has to be something, buts its sure good to see her out in the sun04Ranger4x4
I actually liked the intruders. It documented to the not so well versed people how important the move was. The guy who walks across is actually a pretty famous photog which I found out later. So I was glad he did walk through the shot. It captured the moment as it happened. If he would have camped out in front of the camera I may have been ticked.trafficdan
My gosh, what is with people walking in front of your shots? Where is the professional courtesy when dealing with special movements? Doesn't anyone look to see where they are going and what is going on around them? The video and train content is very good, the 'intruders' should stay at home next time.mrksvideos
In 1969, I lived as a boy in Narberth, Pennsylvania. On weekends, I would sit by the bridge over the PRR tracks, and watch the trains as they made their way to and from Philadelphia to points west. Most of the time, I saw commuter trains on the two outer tracks. But then the middle wires would start jogging, and I knew I was in for a treat. The GG-1 was a mystery to me at 7, but I sure loved to watch it blow past at 80 mph, streaming sparks and bits of paper. An awesome machine!killingamps
IT LIVES! the GG1 turns a wheel once again!(sadly no under her own power)yourweathertodayHD

This is the Amtrak Keystone Corridor between Harrisburg and Philadelphia. The switcher (I am told) was recently purchased by The Strasburg Railroad in the future plans of moving some freight along their line.trafficdan

ya most museums have 600-650 DC just take it thgough the Pan to the 600 volt motorschicagoboy2356
only 600VDC is the third rail in Grand Central and NY Penn Station though.ERIELACKU34CH
they wont no one can unless you bypass the PCB filled oil in the "Rectifier"? you could just take the 600DC to the motors just replace the air compressorchicagoboy2356
