| Are these locomotives C30-7's? | shifta65 |
| Great clip thanks, nice to hear them clearly like that. Why do they sound so different, is it because of the firing order of the pistons? | ZetanCrisp |
| I'd love to hear that is there any way you could post it or send it somehow? | ZetanCrisp |
| Too bad he didn't give you a toot of the horn. It still had a Leslie S5T. | cbehr91 |
| Really nice work! NelsonArtWorks has some really fine B&O prints and you can also get them directly from the B&O Railroad Museum too. | plsrepli |
| Any old Detroit 2-stroke sounds amazing! | TheCamaroGuy95 |
| i grew down in Alabama and got nice memories of Chessie System SD40s, GP40s and GP38s pulling long coal drags and mixed freights. Jus the sound of 2 to 3 GE units and 1 or 2 turbocharged 645 powered EMD units added in at full notch 8 power makes my heart stop. | 6V92TA |
| Too bad they're turbo-charged. The sound of a 6,8,12V detroit screaming makes the hair stand up on every limb! BTW, got one winding up as a ringtone! | CSXT8250 |
| Thanks for the compliment Joe. I never been up on Haystack Mountain, and don't know how to get up there. We hiked halfway up the rock slide, and parked in the gas station by the bridge to do it. We did get some nice pictures and videos both ways, toward Cumberland, and toward the Narrows. Neat place, but those big bolders where a little scary, and you wonder if any of them are going to come down on top of you. Take care, and thanks for watching. Jack... | 1jackdk |
| HI Jack have you ever been up on wills or haystack mountain and watched the trains going through the Narrows? I Lived off of Fayette St. in Cumberland,Maryland and played all over Haystack Mountain. I watched a lot of trains in my time. There is a place on the cliffs that you could here the people talking that were down at the gas station next to the Bridge over Wills Creek. Hay nice Video. Joe in Florida | joemc111 |
| Very nice video! | buntik1687 |
| EMD SD40's sound fantastic pulling Sand Patch grade, but the old GE's still get my vote. The best ones I ever heard, was the old U25B. I remeber them well. The sound of three or four of them was unreal. It was like someone beating on a carpet. But the sound of a set ALCO's is great also. I have plenty of them on here also. You sound check them out. Thanks for looking. Jack | 1jackdk |
| hol up now. You both cant tell me 2 GE units with one or more SD40s or SD50s at full power dont sound more beautiful than jus GE units alone. | 6V92TA |
| I dunno, I grew up in northern Illinois and have fond memories of EMD's pulling Full Bore on Burke Hill outside of Savanna, IL to get up out of the Mississippi River valley. or Run 8 at Morrison on the CNW/UP Chicago-Clinton IA portion of the overland route. | Hiei2k7 |
| There ain't no doubt about it!!!! Thanks for looking. Jack... | 1jackdk |
| There is nothing better than a U-Boat at full song!! | roushracing1 |
| cool next time you go you have to go a little further down so you can get them pulling more i love the sound of locomotives pulling hard | RRYankfan |
| you gotta love the old dash 7 locomotives from GE i used to see them back in mexico running along them super 7's and they sounded awesome | fnm9908 |
| Hard to believe it was almost 10 years ago. Feels like I took it yesterday. Jack... | 1jackdk |

| Glad you enjoyed them. Thanks for looking. Jack... | 1jackdk |
| I wish they where still running. This was taken in 1999. To see these old babies in action, you need to Michigan on the LS&I, (which I have several videos of them on youtube) to see them. Better hurry though, they are on borrowed time, and may be replaced soon. Thanks for looking. Jack... | 1jackdk |
