AC/DC: "Let There Be Rock" Video Tutorial

Okay, here it goes. Hope you dig this one. No talking here. I think I've expressed enough my "philosophy" concerning AC/DC timing, feel and so on. If you haven't heard me yet bore you to death, please see "Back in Black" and "You shook me all night long" tutorials. Most important parts are played slow for better hearing and understanding. To learn the parts - especially the solo - (before you ask me to re-shoot close up") please note the fretboard position I am playing at. To do this, count the frets, taking into account the 12th fret (which is well separated from the others). Take this as a visual guide to see what the hand does and where, and listen to the individual notes trying to replicate them. This is the way to learn in my - not so humble - opinion :-) Happy learning. PS For those who can't tell chords, the intro chords are a pattern of G, E, A. The "Solo Launch chord" is an A. Thank you. Disclaimer: while I think it's in the most part "note accurate", some little things here and there won't be accurate. It was sufficient for me to get the main thing and go from there on my own. The harmonic for example most likely is not how Angus did that high pitch thing. Just ignore the parts you don't think are accurate and PLEASE provide your VISUAL version of it.

that and maybe he just doesnt feel like cuttin themangusisgod55
he doesn't cut them, for one he probally thinks it looks kool cause that's how angus leaves his strings, and second, when don't have locking nuts like floyds or Kahlers your strings will stretch and slip, and there's a chance they could slip to far our of the tuning peg while cut and fall out of place and pain comes, but there is no reason to leave your strings that long. I guess he just likes how Angus has his guitar like that.Aguitarheroperson

solo dallas!! you are a great teacher.. don't listen to these frustrated youtube fans who tell you you talk too much!! you don't at all! your gone shootin' tutorial was perfect, slighly dark video lighting but it helped me a lot! keep up the good work.. however this video was slighly hard to follow.. i already can play most of the song but the end bits were too far. could do with you shouting some frets and strings out in your next videos!!JoshyBloor

is it hard to play guitar? cauz i have one a les paul but i cant play for shit.DRAGONBALL74
I only go by ear. I don't trust ANY tab, I only trust my own ears. So I did listen to it a few times. When I know I can't grasp a passage, I slow down the tempo of the song. Nowadays you can do this with software. Audacity - is free - and can help you out.SoloDallas
ok. did you get the ending from a book, tabs, online lessons, or from listeing to the song over and over again.Aguitarheroperson
Too lengthy to write down here!SoloDallas
Absolutely. I am certian 100% there's a g flat played there. After the G and E, there comes a major A.SoloDallas
